Marsjö Ostrich Farm (or Marsjö Strutsgård och Kulturcenter, in Swedish) lies in the beautiful scenery of middle Öland on the west side, about 20 kilometers from the city of Borgholm. It lies right next to road 136 on the west side, so it's not a detour on your way. Please do make a stop here when you explore Öland.
Here you can stay at our Bed and Breakfast –surrounded by beautiful nature, all peace and quiet. In the summer time you can visit our shop where you can buy high class ostrich meat and handicraft like lamps, feather pens and hair ornaments – all made with materials from the ostrich. In our cosy café, which is decorated with our ostrich handicraft, you can relax for a while and have coffee, tea, pastries and ice cream. We will show you around the farm where you can see for example ostriches, horses and peacocks.
In the nearby of Marsjö Ostrich Farm there is many activities like miniature golf, beaches, go-cart, summer concerts, museums, pubs, restaurants and of course - beautiful nature experiences to be had.
Öland's Harvest Festival
This traditional festival takes place in the end of September/beginning of Oktober. Visit restaurants, galleries and handicraft boutiques along with about 700 other activities all around the island. Öland's Hot Air Balloon Rally takes place right in the vicinity of Marsjö Ostrich Farm. At our farm you can take part of the festivities, buy handicraft and ostrich meat and also stay the night at our B&B. In the evenings you can taste our famous ostrich wok or other delicious courses!
One of the featured events is The night of Culture (Kulturnatta)with it´s many art exhibits. At Marsjö the painter Jan Eric Rudefelt will show some of his inspiring work.
